WalletHub ranks Charlotte 21st among nation’s best college cities
The website WalletHub ranked Charlotte 21st among the nation’s top college cities that promise the best combination of academic, social and economic opportunities for students.
The rankings were based on 23 key metrics such as the quality of higher education, crime rates and cost of living, according to the website. Charlotte ranked No. 21 in the category that rated cities with more than 300,000 residents.
North Carolina’s urban research institution, UNC Charlotte is the largest university in the city of Charlotte. A large public university with a small college feel, nearly 28,000 students consider UNC Charlotte’s 1,000-acre campus their home away from home.
“Academic success depends on more than just the quality of the curriculum,” the article said. “Equally as important are safety, conduciveness to personal development through a diversity of cultural and professional experiences, and of course affordability.”
