Charlotte standout women’s soccer defender Meredith Hamby ’21 is one of 14 Conference USA recipients of the Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship, awarded to a student-athlete from each conference institution.
Dick Beekman, UNC Charlotte’s 2021-22 student body president, and Tahlieah Sampson, the 2020-21 student body president, have been named 2021 Marian Drane Graham Scholars by the UNC System.

Scholar and administrator Beth Wahler has been named the next director of the School of Social Work. Wahler joins UNC Charlotte from Indiana University, where she served as associate dean for Academic Affairs and was on faculty in the School of Social Work since 2012.

As part of the annual Employee of the Year Award (EOY) program, UNC Charlotte recognizes an employee who has made outstanding contributions toward enhancing workplace quality and employee morale or enhancing the public image of the University.
The Charlotte Green Initiative (CGI) student committee selected seven projects for funding this past academic year. CGI allocates funds from the University’s Student Green Fee toward projects that will enable the University to use renewable energy, become energy efficient and operate in a sustainable manner.
