Cameron Boulevard will be reduced to one lane of traffic between Miltimore Hall and Poplar Lane through Sunday, Aug. 12, to install a raised pedestrian crosswalk.
Temporary traffic signals will be in place to allow two-way traffic, but delays are expected. The crosswalk on Cameron Boulevard between Wallis Hall and the UNC Charlotte Main Station for the CATS Blue Line will be closed.
Expect no bus pick up at the light rail station stop, and pedestrians will be unable to cross Cameron Boulevard at Wallis Hall/UNC Charlotte Main Station. Individuals will need to use the crosswalk at Poplar Lane.
Barricades, temporary signals and detour signage will be erected; construction equipment and personnel will be in the area.
Alternate route to avoid delays would be to take Craver Road, then left onto Mary Alexander Road, left onto Cameron Boulevard to access Poplar Terrace Drive and Poplar Lane.
Remember to exercise caution when approaching construction zones.
