Annual UNC Charlotte Center City Literary Festival scheduled

The English Department and UNC Charlotte Center City are teaming up to present a spring festival of literature on Saturday, March 30.

The daytime event will feature a variety of children’s storytelling, organizations and fun creativity stations for kids. In the evening, award-winning authors Tony Earley, Hannah Dela Cruz Abrams, Patrice Gopo and Allison Hutchcraft will hold readings, discussions and book signings.

The children’s events and activities will be from 10 a.m.to 1 p.m.; the evening events will be 6 to 9 p.m., with a reception afterward. All events will be at UNC Charlotte Center City.

According to festival organizers, attendees will discover how literature gives joy, unites communities and expresses shared humanity, and they will consider how writing and art can sustain a community, especially in times of change and upheaval.

More information about the authors and the festival is on the web. The Center City Literary Festival is free and open to the public; pay parking is available at the lot at the corner of 7th and Brevard Streets. UNC Charlotte Center City is located near a stop on the CATS LYNX Blue Line (9th Street Station).
