Parking permits for 2019-20 now on sale
Parking permits for the 2019-20 academic year are available for purchase through mypark.charlotte.edu. The 2019-20 permits will be valid beginning Thursday, Aug. 15.
The cost of a 2019-20 annual permit is $480. For more information, review the permit types and price list on the PaTS website. Employees should review the University’s parking permit guidelines prior to choosing a pass.
Permit pricing for 2019-20 reflects a 3 percent increase, which is the second installment of a three-year plan that was approved by the Board of Trustees. This increase is necessary to fund routine maintenance for aging parking lots and decks; to provide additional parking to keep pace with enrollment projections and continued campus growth; and to help pay for the Union Deck expansion, Admissions Center Lot construction, parking system hardware and software upgrades and the PaTS portion of the new Facilities Operations and Parking and Transportation Services Building (FOPS).
CATS all-access transit passes
Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) all-access transit passes are available for summer, good through Aug. 14. The pass, activated via RFID chip on 49er ID cards, may be used for the light rail and every bus route offered by CATS, including express routes and the Airport Sprinter.
The cost for summer privileges is $50 and can be purchased through employees’ PaTS MyPark account. More details about purchasing a summer CATS all-access transit pass are available on the PaTS website.
Passes for the 2019-20 academic year became available July 1 and will take effect on Aug. 15. Faculty and staff members can purchase a full-year pass for $75 or a semester pass for $50. Temporary employees who do not already have a MyPark account should call or visit the PaTS office for details on how to purchase a CATS all-access transit pass.
