Unmanned Aircraft Systems policy revised
On Thursday, Nov. 21, the chancellor approved revisions to University
Policy 717, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). This University Policy has been revised to:
- broaden the scope of policy applicability to include all campus property
- streamline and clarify required advance notice requirements for UAS flights on campus
- clarify the circumstances under which UNC Charlotte may allow non-University commercial flights on campus
- prohibit UAS operations while UNC Charlotte is in Operating Condition C1, C2, or C3
- articulate universal safety standards that must be followed
