McEntire accepts vice chancellorship at UNC Greensboro

Tina McEntire ’91, ’95 MPA, associate provost for Enrollment Management, has accepted the position of vice chancellor for Enrollment Management at UNC Greensboro.

Joan Lorden, provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs, in a campus email wrote, “Tina has been a tremendous asset to UNC Charlotte, and we thank her for the energy, insight and commitment she has brought to every assignment. Beginning as a student here, Tina has excelled—first through her role in admissions and most recently as associate provost for Enrollment Management. Among her many recent accomplishments, she led the creation of Niner Central and was central in forging the 49erNext transfer program with community colleges.”

McEntire, who has been with the University for more than 25 years, was named associate provost for Enrollment Management in 2011. Enrollment Management includes eight departments with 120 employees. During her tenure, the University experienced a 40 percent growth in undergraduate enrollment.

Previously, McEntire served as director of undergraduate admissions from August 2006 to June 2011 and senior associate and associate director of admissions from September 1998 to October 2006. She first joined the University as an admissions counselor in 1994. A UNC Charlotte alumna, McEntire completed a bachelor’s degree in English in 1991 and a Master of Public Administration in 1995.
