Niners Helping Niners: Support Student Success

Wednesday, October 21, 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause disruption in our daily lives and in the lives of our 49er students. While creative and resilient, UNC Charlotte students are not immune to the health and financial challenges associated with the pandemic; and for some, it threatens to disrupt their dreams and the brighter future that a UNC Charlotte degree promises.

The University’s goal is to provide 49er students with the tools and resources they need to succeed during these unprecedented times. With that in mind, UNC Charlotte created a series of student success initiatives for the fall semester.

As we continue to keep Bonnie Cone’s tradition of serving others alive, we encourage you to support UNC Charlotte students by making a gift of any size to one of our student success initiatives.Niners Helping Niners

The UNC Charlotte Student Emergency Fund helps current students by providing financial support when they need assistance with unexpected, unforeseen, and unavoidable emergency expenses, including pandemics.

The Jamil Niner Student Pantry provides assistance to UNC Charlotte students who struggle with food insecurities, helping ensure that every student has access to nutritious food.

The UNC Charlotte Alumni Association Scholarship for Social Justice provides annual support to returning undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need, potential for academic success in their chosen program of study, and a record of service or social action either at UNC Charlotte, in the greater Charlotte community or in the student’s hometown.

The Student Technology Resource Fund provides scholarships to new and current 49er students to assist them with their required technology needs. This fund helps cover the cost of hardware, software and other technology that will aid a student's progress toward their 49er degree.

The Student-Athlete Wellness Fund assists with the areas of mental health, nutrition, COVID-19 expenses, and additional scholarship support associated with those who opt-in for an extra year of eligibility as allowed by the NCAA.
