A total of 109 Charlotte 49ers student-athletes, the most in the league, received the 2020-21 Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal.
C-USA Academic Medal recipients are student-athletes in league-sponsored sports that have achieved a 3.75 cumulative GPA or higher.
The 49ers programs in men's and women's cross country/track and field, football, women's soccer and volleyball all had more than 10 academic medal recipients. In all, 24.5% of 49ers student-athletes received academic medals. Charlotte garnered the most medals (109) followed by UAB (104) and Marshall (90).
On May 12, the league announced that the 49ers had a league-best 333 student-athletes named to the 2020-21 C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll, which recognizes student-athletes that have achieved a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
The 49ers volleyball, women's tennis and women's golf teams saw each of its student-athletes named to the 2020-21 Honor Roll. In all, 75% of 49ers student-athletes were named to the honor roll.
