Congratulations to the 2020 and 2021 recipients of the 49er Alumni Campus Employee Network (ACE) Award recipients — Sabrina Brown ’09, Solomon Franklin ’03, ’06, ’11 M.A. , Kevin Edwards-Knight ’09 M.S.W., Brenda Shue ’11, ’13 M.A. Joshua Avery ’03, ’06 M.A. and Darin Spease ’89.  They were recognized during a special luncheon held recently.

“Alumni campus employees have a unique perspective on what it means to be a Niner,” said Mindi White ’17, co-chair of the 49er ACE Network and event services coordinator for conferences, reservations and event services. “We once came to this campus as students who lived in the residence halls, ate in the dining halls, studied at the library and attended sporting events. Now, as alumni employees, we get to witness the growth and excitement of our alma mater by coming to work each day.”

The 49er Ace Network also presented the 49er ACE Scholarship Award, an endowed annual scholarship, to two student employees, Eden Woland and Jasir Mills. Woland is a senior majoring in computer science with a concentration in software, systems and networks and a minor in geology. Mills is a senior architecture major.

“The 49er ACE Scholarship Award is focused on financially supporting campus student employees,” said Alicia Bartosch ’05, ’06 M.Acc., co-chair of the 49er ACE Network and assistant controller of compliance and interim bursar in financial services. “Until now, there hasn’t been a scholarship that supported this particular student population.”
