UNC Charlotte once again has been named among “America’s Best Mid-Sized Employers” by Forbes, which released its rankings Thursday, Feb. 10.

The University ranked 151 out of the top 500 employers with between 1,000 and 5,000 employees. UNC Charlotte is the only higher education institution in North Carolina on the list.

“Being recognized among the best employers in the nation for the second year in a row is a remarkable achievement,” said Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber. “This distinction is a reflection of the passion, hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff as they work to provide a high-quality educational experience for our students and a rewarding work environment for their colleagues.”

Forbes and Statista Inc., a world-leading statistic portal and industry ranking provider, selected the America’s Best Employers List 2022 through an independent survey of approximately 60,000 American employees working in companies with more than 1,000 employees in the United States.

The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from employees that were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Employee evaluations also included other employers in their respective industries that stood out positively or negatively.

“From the moment I stepped on campus, I knew UNC Charlotte was a special place,” said Richard Amon, vice chancellor for business affairs. “Our employees are an integral part in creating the culture that makes UNC Charlotte a great place to live, learn and work.”
