A total of 117 Charlotte 49ers student-athletes earned a Conference USA Commissioner’s

Joe Fiorelli joined the University five and a half years ago as the director of risk management and insurance. Learn about the unique aspects of his job, how his children bring joy to his life and his favorite summer activity in Charlotte: enjoying a popsicle and a beer.  How would you describe your role at UNC Charlotte?

Jennifer L. Troyer, dean of the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte and professor of economics, has been appointed interim provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. Her appointment is effective immediately and will continue until the position is filled permanently.

UNC Charlotte introduced government officials, and economic development and industry partners to two growing research areas of focus: predicting health and environmental risk and next-generation battery research during an open house on Monday, June 5.

Scott Kull will join the Charlotte 49ers as deputy athletics director for external affairs. Recognized as a “power player” by the Sports Business Journal in 2019, he has served in similar roles at the University of Utah, South Florida and TCU during his 30-year career in intercollegiate athletics.
