Attention SHRA employees

SHRA employees subject to the Fair Labor and Standards Act (FLSA) who are not normally scheduled for Friday or Saturday work are authorized to receive overtime compensation or compensatory time off if the hours worked for the week are sufficient to generate the overtime situation. Such employees will be paid from funding in the department to which they are assigned. The rate of overtime compensation will be based on the employee's normal salary.

Departmental supervisors determine whether an employee will be paid overtime or receive compensatory time. The decision is primarily based on whether or not the employee will be able to use their compensatory time and departmental funding available to pay overtime. It’s recommended you discuss this with your supervisor to determine how overtime would be handled in your situation.
