I am writing to share that Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development Rick Tankersley has announced he has decided to return to the faculty.
In his time as vice chancellor, Rick has worked to strengthen our University's research enterprise and build the infrastructure needed to position us to become a top-tier research university. We are appreciative of Rick’s service.
We are pleased to share that Dr. Yvette Huet, director of the UNC Charlotte ADVANCE Faculty Affairs and Diversity Office and professor of applied physiology, health and clinical sciences, and Carl Mahler, executive director of the Office of Commercialization and Development, have agreed to serve as co-interim vice chancellors.
The details and timeline for the recruitment of a permanent replacement are still being finalized.
