UNC Charlotte rises in U.S. News & World Report global rankings
UNC Charlotte has again been recognized for its increasing prominence within the global academic community.
The 2022-23 U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities rankings show the University rising 25 spots overall and again placing No. 3 among UNC System institutions.
U.S. News weighs factors that measure a university’s global and regional research reputation and academic performance, including publications and citations, and international collaboration.
Charlotte ranks in six subject areas globally: economics and business, computer science, clinical medicine, engineering, social sciences and public health and electrical and electronic engineering.
U.S. News surveys 2,000 universities from 95 countries across the globe for its global rankings. There were 280 ranked U.S. universities.
Other rankings
This is one of several recent rankings that show the University’s rise as an emerging top-tier research university. Charlotte moved up eight spots in the 2022-23 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Rankings and 136 spots in the 2023 Forbes America’s Top Colleges rankings.
UNC Charlotte also jumped 33 spots among U.S. universities in the 2023 Times Higher Education World University rankings.
