Hague named to 2023 academic data leaders list
Doug Hague, executive director of UNC Charlotte’s School of Data Science, was recognized by CDO Magazine as an exceptional visionary who is fostering an environment where data-driven insights illuminate the path to discovery and progress.
The magazine’s annual list is a compilation that celebrates exceptional individuals at the forefront of data leadership in the academic sphere. This year’s honorees were ecognized for the pivotal role they are playing in nurturing the next generation of data leaders.
As founding executive director of Charlotte’s School of Data Science and the Carolina’s first school of data science, Hague manages the school’s resources and programs and serves as the representative to the UNC Charlotte community and external industry partners.
Hague holds four U.S. patents and has more than 20 years of experience in global technology. Before joining UNC Charlotte, he was chief analytics officer at Bank of America Merchant Services, where he implemented data governance policies and practices for internal and external entities. He has served as an executive advisor to leaders in health care, manufacturing, financial services and the service industry to identify efficient and effective analytical organization, infrastructure and data platforms.
