Congratulations, 2023 Fall Commencement graduates

UNC Charlotte conferred more than 3,800 undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and graduate certificates during 2023 Fall Commencement ceremonies held in Dale F. Halton Arena Friday and Saturday, Dec. 15-16.

Here are just a few of the many great moments from the four commencement ceremonies.

Deborah Beete, senior lecturer in the Department of Public Health Sciences and director of the MPH program, was University marshal for the Friday morning commencement ceremony.

Morgan Owings serves as bell ringer for Friday morning’s ceremony. She completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in finance from the Belk College of Business. The old bell is rung nine times, once for each of the eight academic colleges and once for the Graduate School.

Zoe Klein addresses the Class of 2023 during the afternoon commencement ceremony Friday, Dec. 15. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the Cato College of Education.

Frenchie Wilson Brown ’91, immediate past president of the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association Board of Directors, welcomes graduates into the Alumni Association network, which numbers 171,000-plus. Brown spoke at all three ceremonies.

“You made an excellent choice when you decided to attend UNC Charlotte. But it was not just a choice, it was an investment in yourself and your future. Your Charlotte degree will remain with you throughout your life and will pay lasting dividends to you as you navigate your future endeavors.”
