Charlotte faculty conquer Online Course Design Boot Camp
Forty-six Charlotte faculty members from 22 different campus departments recently participated in the Online Course Design Boot Camp at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City.
This boot camp, supported by the School of Professional Studies and facilitated by the staff of the Center for Teaching and Learning, showed participants who regularly teach online general education courses, how to take their students’ online learning experiences to the next level. Throughout the day, faculty collaborated and engaged in hands-on sessions for streamlining course organization and creating effective learning paths. They also tried out new tools to engage students and save faculty time.
Faculty who attended will participate in an additonal three-week course design experience, launching in mid-May, where they will receive additional hands-on support to continue innovating their courses. This development program has the potential to impact 2,600 undergraduate students per semester.
