The University’s annual Convocation, which traditionally marks the start of the academic year, will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20, in Cone University Center, McKnight Hall.
In keeping with national trends and best practices, a review of the University’s space management policy and procedures was initiated by Chancellor Philip L. Dubois this past year. As a result, the University has developed Policy 601.4 “Space Assignment, Management and Alteration.”
UNC Charlotte and Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to initiate joint projects and to partner on scientific research programs common to both institutions.
Effective Monday, July 29, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Women’s Summit, a unit within Metropolitan Studies and Extended Academic Programs, will change its name to the Women + Girls Research Alliance.
Forbes magazine has ranked UNC Charlotte among the top 25 universities in the nation for providing the best value in higher education.
The University ranked 24th nationally due to an instate tuition of $5,873 and average out-of-state tuition of $18,402.
The Charlotte 49ers have scheduled a home-and-home series with James Madison University (JMU), beginning this coming season. Charlotte will play at JMU on Saturday, Sept. 21; game time is 6 p.m. The Dukes will play a return trip to Charlotte on Oct. 25, 2014.
Traffic lights have been installed at the intersection of Alumni Way and Cameron Boulevard. Once state approval is granted, the intersection will open officially to traffic in all directions. The newly installed traffic lights will flash in caution mode for approximately one week to alert the campus community and visitors to the change; signals then will transition into normal operation.
