Brandon McCladdie is executive director and senior associate athletics director of development for the Charlotte 49ers. He will oversee the 49ers’ Athletic Foundation while working closely with the Division of University Advancement to strategically pursue organizational goals.
UNC Charlotte administrative offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Jan. 2, for winter break. The University will resume normal operations Tuesday, Jan. 3.
The first day of classes for spring semester 2023 is Monday, Jan. 9.

Heather Smith, professor of geography, interim chair of the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences and Levine Scholars faculty fellow, has been appointed faculty director of the Levine Scholars Program, effective July 1, 2023. She succeeds Diane Zablotsky, who will return as a faculty member to the Department of Sociology.

UNC Charlotte’s Center for Graduate Life and Learning is now the Thomas L. Reynolds Center for Graduate Life and Learning in recognition and honor of Tom Reynolds, associate provost for graduate programs and dean of the Graduate School. The naming took place during a special ceremony at the center in Atkins Library Thursday, Dec.15.
