Since football was introduced at UNC Charlotte five years ago, October has marked a time for 49ers to return to campus to relive their college memories and make some new ones with a weekend chock full of events. The Alumni Association is excited to invite all Alumniners to these Homecoming events:
Homecoming Parade
Friday, Oct. 20, 6:30 p.m.
Join students and alumni during this year’s Homecoming Parade. This annual tradition promises lots of fun and excitement with parade participants and performers at their best. The parade route begins in Lot 6 (located on the east side of campus, off John Kirk Road) and will travel through campus, ending at the Popp Martin Student Union.
Green and White Social
Friday, Oct. 20, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Head down to South End as the Young Alumni Chapter and graduates from the last decade invite alumni to join the Green and White Social at All American Pub. It’s a great place to reconnect with classmates and make new friends. Cost of admission includes two drink tickets and appetizers. Register here.
Homecoming Athletics
Saturday, Oct. 21 | 6:30 p.m.
Perhaps the pinnacle of any homecoming is “the big football game.” Show your spirit by cheering on the Charlotte 49ers when they square off against the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers on Saturday, Oct. 21. And take note: a slew of other athletic events mark Homecoming Week – check out the graphic and show your 49er pride.
Oktoberfest and Alumni Tailgate Village
Saturday, Oct. 21, 3 to 6 p.m.
A popular annual event is back for its fourth year: 49er Oktoberfest! As part of a special extended Alumni Tailgate Village, the Alumni Association has lined up your favorite local and regional brewers to serve their latest and greatest. Admission is included with cost of adult tailgate and includes buffet, open bar, brewery samples, live DJ and more. Register here before the early-bird deadline on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
BAC After Party
Saturday, Oct. 21, 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The Black Alumni Chapter Homecoming Official After Party is a Homecoming tradition. Join in for a late night of entertainment at FireWater Restaurant & Lounge with DJ, food, drinks and mingling with fellow 49er alumni. Register here.
