Are You Ready for Some Hometown Football?

Get the lowdown on the Charlotte 49ers move to FBS; see the complete schedule, and learn how to tailgate like a pro.

Starting with a bang … campus is abuzz from the Charlotte 49ers win over Georgia State in their season opener on Sept. 4. Read all about how we dominated at the Georgia Dome.

A Whole New Conference

We’ve moved up. This season, the Charlotte 49ers join a new level of competition: Conference USA in the NCAA Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision, also known as FBS. What does that mean? Stronger opponents are one thing we can count on. Here’s Head Coach Brad Lambert’s take:

“Welcome to FBS Football. It’s challenging. Our schedule has two previous conference champions and five schools that were bowl eligible with at least six wins. It’s a good home schedule for our fans. It’s a tough schedule that we are excited to play."

The first home game is Sept. 12 - check out the complete schedule and get your home game tickets here.
