Editor's Note: Today is the last edition of Niner Insider until Jan. 11. Thank you for your support of this new communication initiative. We look forward to sharing more with you in the new year!

Dear Niner Nation,

Today marks the last day of fall classes. Exams start Thursdaytomorrow, and next week, we can officially say we made it. We did it. We successfully completed a semester in the middle of the pandemic, and we have almost crossed the finish line of 2020.

Reaching this milestone is a testament to the spirit of this community -- students, faculty and staff who are unwavering in their resilience, perseverance and care for each other. It has been my great honor and privilege to get to know so many of you this semester and feel the warmth and hospitality of Niner Nation, even in a virtual world. Thank you for welcoming me into this special place with patience and understanding.

I am looking forward to what 2021 will bring to UNC Charlotte. I am under no illusion that a flip of the calendar will offer a magic solution to the challenges we face from this pandemic, but I am confident in what we are capable of overcoming and achieving together.

I hope this holiday season will bring rest, good health and joy to you and your loved ones.

Sincerely,

Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber
