A message from Chancellor Gaber
Thank you, Niners!
Once again, our community has risen to the challenge of helping keep everyone safe!
I am happy to report that Niner Nation’s vaccination rate continues to climb. As of today, 71% of students attending in-person classes, 78% of residential students and 85% of all faculty and staff have submitted approved documentation of being vaccinated against COVID-19. We also achieved a nearly 99% compliance rate with our re-entry testing program.
I know none of this is easy -- masks are hot and uncomfortable and testing can be inconvenient. But you’re doing it anyway. Everyone is stepping up to protect themselves, their friends and colleagues, and our community. I am very proud to be your chancellor.
We must all continue to do our part in the weeks ahead. Mask up. Remember, it’s required inside and highly recommended outside when you are with other people. If you’re vaccinated, please let us know. If you’re not vaccinated, please participate in the weekly mitigation testing for off-campus students and employees and the wastewater-related testing for residential students.
If we continue to work together, I hope we will soon be able to relax some of these restrictions. Most importantly, we will be able to continue our semester together safely.
Sincerely,
Sharon L. Gaber
