City and School of Architecture launch Charlotte Urban Design Awards program
The City of Charlotte Urban Design Center and the UNC Charlotte School of Architecture are collaborating on the city’s first Urban Design Awards, or “Urbies,” to elevate the importance of excellent urban design.

- The deadline to nominate an outstanding young alumna/us who graduated within 10 years to receive a 10 Under Ten Award is Monday, Sept. 6. The awards are hosted by the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association and the Young Alumni Chapter.
- Correction to yesterday's feature: Anabel Aliaga-Buchenau, professor of German, is from the Department of Languages and Culture Studies.

Important mitigation testing information
In an effort to keep our community safe, UNC Charlotte is continuing to conduct ongoing COVID-19 mitigation testing of unvaccinated non-residential students, faculty and staff. The University is covering the cost of campus mitigation testing. If you have already scheduled your appointment for the current week, Aug. 30 - Sept. 3, thank you! If you have not made an appointment, please do so now. You can also start making appointments for the week of Sept. 5 - 10.
