Marsalis leads masterclass at UNC Charlotte

Three-time Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis recently led a masterclass for music students in Rowe Recital Hall. Visiting campus the day after Charlie Parker's 101st birthday, Marsalis launched the Department of Music's "Charlie Parker 101" project with the class and a public event in the Anne R. Belk Theater.

  • In observance of Suicide Prevention Week (Sept. 6-10), the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will host initiatives around mental health promotion and suicide prevention. Programs include "It’s Real: College Students and Mental Health with ASPF" workshops; Question, Persuade, Refer training for faculty, staff and students; and various tabling events throughout the week. Important mitigation testing information

The University is continuing to conduct ongoing COVID-19 mitigation testing of unvaccinated non-residential students, faculty and staff. If you have already scheduled your mitigation test for the current week, Sept. 5 - Sept. 10, thank you! If you have not, please do so now. UNC Charlotte is covering the cost of on-campus mitigation testing. If you do not register for an appointment, you will need to submit an off-campus, negative test result, at your expense, by Friday, Sept. 10, at 11:59 p.m.
