Green Dot at UNC Charlotte is a campus-wide initiative coordinated by the Center for Wellness Promotion in partnership with the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage. Green Dot is designed to mobilize students, staff and faculty to engage in bystander intervention and establish intolerance of violence as the campus norm. An important component of the Green Dot strategy involves providing bystander training to our campus community. OUR POINTS OF PRIDE
- Virtual exchange joins choirs from UNC Charlotte and Tohoku University: The Charlotteans women's chorus recently spent two weeks in a virtual exchange with choral students from Japan’s Tohoku University. Through Zoom, the two choirs met for joint rehearsals and group discussions and together have created a combined performance.
MEDIA HIGHLIGHTS
Political science professor Eric Heberlig participated on the Charlotte Talks panel to discuss what a “once-in-a-generation” investment would mean for North Carolina and the country.
WSOC TV reports that millions of Americans left their jobs in August in a movement coined “The Great Resignation” in part due to low pay and lack of respect in the workforce. Psychological sciences professor Alyssa McGonagle commented on why.

- 10/18: The Jazz Combo and Jazz Ensemble perform an evening of jazz standards and a suite by Duke Ellington.
- 10/30: The UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens’ fifth annual Urban Roots Symposium will explore the influence of African cultures and crops on Carolina cropland. This full-day event Saturday, Oct. 30, features four speakers and begins with a roundtable discussion.
