49ers tight end Ryan Carriere considers career options with a master’s in data science
Ryan Carriere undeniably has many reasons to be proud of his academic career. He started in 2016 as a business major, then decided to instead study computer science. After earning an undergraduate degree in computer science with a concentration in software systems and networking, he began UNC Charlotte’s master’s program in data science.

COVID-19 Information
Booster campus clinics
In partnership with VaxVan, UNC Charlotte will offer a vaccine booster clinic for those employees and students who qualify, today, Thursday, Nov. 4, and Friday Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at SoVi. Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be available. Please register as soon as possible since supplies are limited.

YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: FACULTY & STAFF
- Mail and Package Services reminds faculty and staff sending department mail that you must include the department name on the envelope to ensure proper delivery. Also, please make sure your contact information is updated in the campus directory.
- A team of Enrollment Management and Academic Advising staff have been working together, in conjunction with OneIT, to create a streamlined Appeal Tool to provide students with a user-friendly portal to submit appeals. In May, the team launched the Financial Aid SAP Appeal and later this month the Undergraduate Academic Suspension Appeal will be added. Register for system end-user training here.
- The Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHS) asks that if you have a space heater in your office that you register it by clicking here. Once registered EHS will provide consultation to evaluate your space to ensure guidelines are followed per the North Carolina Office of Human Resources.

- 11/4: Join one of the Niner Nation gatherings happening this evening and help paint the region green: Blue Bar & Smokehouse (Fort Mill), Cabarrus Brewing (Concord), DB's Tavern (Ballantyne), Dilworth Neighborhood Grille (Dilworth) and Galway Hooker (Cornelius). Must be at least 21 years old to attend these events.
- 11/5: What do you need to know to go camping? Come to Venture Outdoor Leadership’s 90-minute workshop to learn beginner camp craft skills!
- 11/11: The Office of Urban Research and Community Engagement will host a virtual UNC Charlotte Engaged Scholarship Symposium as part of “shaping what’s next” for the University. Participants will explore four areas of intention critical for achieving the University's goals to become the region's preeminent academic institution for community-engaged research as well as a top-tier research university: curriculum, partnerships, research and merit.
