- On Sept. 30, Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber and Provost Joan F. Lorden announced the University will undertake a review of the organization of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS). The review will ensure the University is appropriately structured to support the goals of the new strategic plan and enable continued excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. COVID-19 Information
Mitigation Testing
Due to the shortened week for Thanksgiving, students, faculty and staff are not required to participate in mitigation testing next week, Nov. 22-26. Testing requirements will continue through this current week and will resume, as normal, Monday, Nov. 29.

- On Tuesday, Nov. 23, and Monday, Nov. 29, NCFlex will host webinars discussing the Group Term Life plan offered through Voya Financial. Topics will include defining term life insurance and how long it can continue, who can be covered and the extra benefits. Register for one of the webinars today.
- Faculty planning research opportunities for undergraduate students in summer 2022 should submit proposals to the Office of Undergraduate Research by Monday, Nov. 22. Summer research includes disciplines from all colleges, and can be in-person, remote or hybrid. Meaningful research experiences give Niner undergrads a leg up for graduate school and next-level research; be part of this opportunity that differentiates UNC Charlotte from many other institutions.
YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: STUDENTS
- Learn to effectively align how the brain naturally learns with the demands of the college classroom. This workshop, adapted from the "New Science of Learning" by Terry Doyle and Todd Zakrajsek, will take place on Monday, Nov. 22, from 12:20 to 1:05 p.m.

- Urban Institute newsletter collaboration wins national award: UNC Charlotte’s Urban Institute, The Charlotte Ledger and WFAE won "Collaboration of the Year" from the Local Independent Online News Publishers for creating “Transit Time,” a free weekly email newsletter devoted to transit and transportation in Charlotte.
- Sargent named three-minute thesis winner: Amanda Sargent bested the field in this year’s 3MT competition with her presentation, "What Is It about Who You Know that Gets You Ahead?"

- 11/19: Attend the 49er Improv show at 7 p.m. in Rowe Arts Building.
- 11/20: Watch the Charlotte 49ers compete in the NCAA Cross Country Championship on ESPN.
- 11/23: The Jamil Niner Student Pantry assists UNC Charlotte undergraduate and graduate students who struggle with food insecurity. Volunteer to work with the pantry student leadership team to provide healthy, cultural and emergency foods to students on campus.
