Charlotte philanthropists Smoky and Margaret Bissell continue to invest in UNC Charlotte
GivingTuesday was founded nine years ago as an effort to spark a “global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.” Charlotte philanthropists H.C. “Smoky” and Margaret Gragg Bissell certainly understand the power of giving to transform lives and cities as they have given generously to the University for many years. Their largest gift made in 2020 of $10 million to the UNC Charlotte Foundation supported the areas of greatest need at the University and brought their total giving to nearly $14.5 million.
Every Friday we will introduce a Niner. Have a suggestion on who we should highlight next? Email us at ninerinsider.uncc.edu.
