A Message to Niner Nation

A Message to Niner Nation

Dear Niner Nation,

I hope you had a restful winter break. As we start the beginning of our spring semester, I want to thank you for your ongoing support, patience and flexibility. None of us expected, almost two years later, that COVID-19 would still be part of our daily lives and conversation. Yet, here we are, starting our semester virtually for two weeks to make sure our campus has the best chance for a healthy, productive and gratifying semester.

Through it all – every pivot, updated instruction and change of plans – you have demonstrated your care for your fellow Niners. I know the challenges and uncertainty have been real, but so has your commitment to your success and the success of our University. I cannot say it enough: I am so proud to be part of this campus community.

Our plan is to be together, in person on Jan. 24, to enjoy our beautiful campus. There is much to be excited about this semester, including the opening of our new Science Building, and I look forward to what we will accomplish together. I send you my best wishes for a happy and HEALTHY 2022!

Sincerely,

Sharon L. Gaber

Chancellor

YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: FACULTY & STAFF

YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: STUDENTS

    • Volunteer to teach Charlotte high school students to invest with real money! First Generation Investors is a nonprofit organization that teaches high school students the power of investing and provides program graduates with real money to invest. Trained UNC Charlotte volunteers teach high school students the basics of investing over the course of eight, one-hour sessions. Students then create a final portfolio of $100, which they receive in the form of a real investment account upon graduation. Meetings will be held at noon on Wednesdays at Cochrane Collegiate Academy during spring 2022. To volunteer, email Brad Yeckley, assistant director for Niner Finances, at byeckley@uncc.edu.
