UNC Charlotte nationally ranked as a top employer by Forbes Magazine
UNC Charlotte once again has been named among “America’s Best Mid-Sized Employers” by Forbes, which released its rankings Thursday, Feb. 10. The University ranked 151 out of the top 500 employers with between 1,000 and 5,000 employees. UNC Charlotte is the only higher education institution in North Carolina on the list.

“Question, Persuade and Refer” is a 90-minute training intended to foster a community of care by teaching individuals how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, including verbal, behavioral and situational clues. The next QPR session is from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Friday, Feb. 18. Faculty, staff and students can find this session, as well as upcoming sessions, on the CAPS website.

Mitigation Testing
The University is continuing to conduct ongoing COVID-19 mitigation testing for those who are vaccinated and eligible for a booster but have not received one, and for unvaccinated nonresidential students, faculty and staff. If you have not scheduled your mitigation test for the current week, Feb. 6-11, please do so now.

- Attend the workshop, “Humanizing Your Online Course: Effective Facilitation Strategies to Engage Online Learners," Monday, Feb. 14. After designing the course, the instructor acts as a “facilitator” and uses various strategies to actively engage the students to facilitate learning.

YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: STUDENTS
- The DegreeWorks dashboard will be unavailable between 8 a.m. and noon, Saturday, Feb. 12, as teams upgrade it to a more modern, mobile-responsive interface.

- The deadline to change or cancel a nonrequired meal plan is noon, Friday, Feb. 11; there will be a $25 administrative fee. First-year resident students are required to have the Daily Plan and may not make changes.
