- Fatma Mili, dean of the College of Computing and Informatics, has announced her intention to leave UNC Charlotte on June 30, 2022. She has accepted the role of provost at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The University is continuing to conduct ongoing COVID-19 mitigation testing for those who are vaccinated and eligible for a booster but have not received one, and for unvaccinated nonresidential students, faculty and staff. If you have not scheduled your mitigation test for the current week, Feb. 13-18, please do so now.

- Attend the staff caucus listening session with Brandon L. Wolfe, chief diversity officer, Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 11 a.m. to noon.
- Yesterday, benefits-eligible employees received an email detailing a new life insurance offering from the UNC System. The enrollment period ends Friday, March 4. More information about this offering can be found on the Human Resources website.
- Governor Roy Cooper announced an extension of the policy that allows state employees to use volunteer days to help combat staff shortages in K-12 public school districts across the state due to COVID-19. The extension, through April 15, provides an additional 24 hours of community service leave for state employees with supervisor approval to work in North Carolina schools as substitute teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria staff and other needed roles. - Area 49 training and workshops are back! Learn the basics of 3-D modeling or how to use the Visualization Lab’s giant screen and VR headset. Learn to operate the laser cutter, CNC routers and 3-D printers. Register for the current session and check back for future dates.
- Do you want to help your fellow Niners improve their health and well-being? Become a nationally certified peer educator through the BACCHUS Network. Applications are open until 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17.

- 2/16: The William States Lee College of Engineering is hosting an alumni panel for Black History Month and National Engineers Week. Engineering graduates who work at Duke Energy, Coca Cola Company, Moffatt & Nichol, Lane Construction and city/federal government agencies will share their personal experiences of how Charlotte shaped their success.
