UNC Charlotte graduate helps feed thousands across the city
In 2019, Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays fed over 80,000 Charlotte residents, enough to fill Bank of America Stadium. In 2020, that number jumped to over 120,000. In May 2021, the two organizations merged after having operated independently for over 45 years.

In partnership with VaxVan, UNC Charlotte will offer a campus vaccine booster clinic for employees and students Thursday, March 3, in SoVi from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be available. Please register as soon as possible since appointments are limited.

YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: FACULTY & STAFF
- On Monday, Feb. 14, benefits-eligible employees received an email detailing a new life insurance offering from the UNC System. The enrollment period ends Friday, March 4. More information about this offering can be found on the human resources website.
- Attend the “Migrating to New Canvas Quizzing” workshop Thursday, March 3. Learn how to migrate Canvas courses to the new Canvas quizzing tool.
- Register for a virtual lunch-and-learn workshop scheduled for noon, Wednesday, March 2; the topic will be counseling and therapy demystified.
YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: STUDENTS
- Attend the “Staying Well in College During the COVID-19 Pandemic” event Thursday, March 3. This one-hour interactive workshop provides information and resources on the following topics: how to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, information on vaccines and testing, strategies for physical and mental health self-care during the pandemic and campus resources available to students.

Architecture students win awards from Metal Building Manufacturers Association: One former and two current undergraduate architecture students were awarded prizes in the inaugural Metal Building Manufacturers Association Student Design Competition, which challenged students to create an innovative metal building design for an elementary school.
