Former SoVi cook turned business owner brings new laundry service to campus
The WashRoom Laundry Services was started in Charlotte in 2016 by founder and COO Saichell McNeill, who created the business while she was working in SoVi. In partnership with Auxiliary Services, McNeill is now serving a campus she loves in a whole new way.

- UNC Charlotte brought together two national leaders, Gov. Jeb Bush and Secretary Janet Napolitano, for the 11th annual Chancellor’s Speaker Series. Both leaders emphasized the essential role public universities, like Charlotte, play in providing opportunities for students and success for communities.

- Attend the “Engaging Students with Poll Everywhere” workshop Tuesday, March 29. Encourage engagement in online, blended and face-to-face instruction through a variety of activity types that let you visualize student feedback in real time, with open-ended Q&As, multiple choice and word clouds.

- Join Atkins Library for the panel discussion, “Odyssey for Democracy: From Charlotte to Bosnia and Herzegovina," featuring Charlotte professor Mirsad Hadžikadić, who is running for the Bosniak presidential council seat in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The discussion, scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, will be moderated by John Cox.

49 employees nominated for Staff Employee of the Year: The Human Resources Department received 40 nominations for the 2022 Staff Employee of the Year Award, a record number nominated in the categories of devotion to duty, human relations, innovation and community/public service. For this year, a total of 49 staff members are nominated either individually or as members of teams.
