YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: FACULTY & STAFF
- To help support employees this semester, the Human Resources Office is sponsoring two additional events in partnership with ComPsych, the University’s professional counseling service offered through the Employee Assistance Program.
- Attend the “Getting Started with Active Teaching and Learning” workshop Tuesday, April 12. This workshop provides an introduction to active teaching and learning strategies that can be used during class. This workshop counts toward the Essentials of Teaching and Learning Certificate.
- Over the next month, the University will install a card reader to each Kronos time clock to allow employees to tap their ID badges instead of swiping them. More information is available on the financial services website.

- Come out and celebrate 49er Day with your favorite “cabbies” tonight at 6:30 p.m. on Field 14A. Try not to get soaked as the Campus Activities Board hosts its annual 49,000 water balloon fight! You don't want to miss this.

Nova magazine reception draws more than 150 people: More than 150 people attended a reception for Nova, the literary-arts magazine formerly known as Sanskrit. Nova is a student publication that features a curated selection of artwork, audio, poetry, short stories and films from artists at the University and around the world.

- 4/11: Rana Foroohar, global business columnist and associate editor at the Financial Times and global economic analyst at CNN, will deliver the annual TIAA Lecture, “Big Tech, the Global Economy, and the Future of Work,” at 3:30 p.m. in Cone University Center, McKnight Hall. Cynthia Bush, lecturer in the Belk College of Business, will moderate the discussion. Students, faculty and staff are asked to register for the event.
