The National Cancer Institute is showcasing nanotechnology particles designed and produced by the lab of leading UNC Charlotte researcher Kirill Afonin on the cover of a document presented to the U.S. House and Senate appropriations committees.

- Reminder: Please register for the campus service event Tuesday, April 19, between 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. in the food court of the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. Help assemble care packages for four local community partners: Niner University Elementary, Classroom Central, Crisis Assistance Ministry and Hope Vibes.
- On Friday, April 15, from 6 to 11 p.m., OneIT will conduct maintenance work on the University’s data center. Users may experience short, one minute network interruptions throughout the evening. During this time, if you are unable to reach UNC Charlotte Police and Public Safety by calling 704-687-2200, please call 980-475-7629 from your cell phone, or dial 911 to reach CMPD or use the LiveSafe app.

- Attend the “Syllabus 101: Roadmap to Success” workshop Wednesday, April 13. This workshop covers the important components of a syllabus and ways in which you can enhance your course syllabus and strategies for using your syllabus as a learning tool. This facilitated asynchronous workshop counts toward the Essentials of Teaching and Learning Certificate.
- 49er Mart users are invited to attend the 49er Mart Virtual Forum Thursday, April 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. Topics covered include understanding filters, using order searches to find open purchase orders and using searches to find orders that need receipts. Registration is encouraged.

- 4/12: Take Back the Night is an annual event to raise awareness of sexual violence and inspire action to prevent all forms of interpersonal violence in our communities. The evening will include a roundtable discussion and keynote address by Jimanekia Eborn, a survivor speak-out moderated by a representative from the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services and a luminary tribute provided by Brave Step. The event is at 5:30 p.m. in the Cone University Center, McKnight Hall.
