Faculty support is the mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning, and for a trio of participants in the center’s Active Learning Academy, it has become a personal bonding experience.

YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: FACULTY & STAFF

  • Volunteer to help at the upcoming May Commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 13, and/or Saturday, May 14, to assist at the information tables, distribute name cards to our graduates and welcome our guests. A volunteer orientation will take place on Wednesday, May 11, virtually. SHRA employees subject to the Fair Labor and Standards Act (FLSA) who normally are not scheduled for Friday or Saturday work are authorized to receive overtime compensation or compensatory time off if the hours worked for the week are sufficient to generate the overtime situation. Register to volunteer.

YOUR DAILY NEED TO KNOW: STUDENTS 

  • Learning more about your money can help you take charge of your financial life. In celebration of Financial Literacy Month, Niner Finances will host Bank of America from 2-3 p.m. tomorrow, April 13, and Wednesday, April 20, in McKnight Hall.

  • Voice professor's opera performed at Kennedy Center: An opera composed by Brian Arreola, professor of voice & opera workshop, was presented at The Kennedy Center on Saturday, April 9, in Washington, D.C.
