Nixon wins Student Employee of the Year Award

With nearly 30,500 students enrolled at UNC Charlotte, many gain valuable experience and opportunities through student employment. However, few students take the reins and make the most robust contributions and impact like Grace Nixon has, which earned her the 2022 Student Employee of the Year Award.

  • It's official! Per last week's Charlotte student-only vote, “The 49th Acre” is the new name for the Student Outdoor Event Venue and Tailgate Park. The 49th Acre will provide year-round opportunities for large student gatherings, including tailgating prior to Charlotte 49ers football games. Thank you to all the students who participated in this process!
  • The Golden Owl Tavern, located inside the UNC Charlotte Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, is offering a buy one/get one free lunch special for the month of May! This offer, open to anyone with a valid UNC Charlotte ID, applies to tables of six people or less and cannot be combined with any other promos.
  • Duo announced, starting Thursday, May 5, logins won’t work in the following countries or regions: Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Sudan, Syria, Crimea region, Sevastopol region, Donetsk region and Luhansk region. Access will be blocked to comply with U.S. regulations. Students, faculty and staff traveling to or living in these countries or regions will need to contact the OneIT Service Desk, 7-5500 or help.charlotte.edu, to maintain access to UNC Charlotte accounts when abroad.
