Alumni Karen Popp, Joe Price to receive honorary degrees during Spring Commencement

Karen Popp ’80 and Joe Price ’83 will be awarded honorary Doctor of Public Service degrees in recognition of their service to UNC Charlotte and the citizens of the city, region and state during Charlotte’s Spring Commencement, Friday and Saturday, May 13-14.

  • Atkins Library will update its system and database links to comply with the University domain change from uncc.edu to charlotte.edu beginning at 10 a.m., Monday, May 16. The library will maintain redirect links through next summer. Research Guides/LibGuides will not be updated until the intercession between the Summer I and Summer II session. Contact the library if you experience any issues with library links over the next few weeks.
  • 49er Mart users are invited to attend the 49er Mart Virtual Forum Thursday, May 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. Forum topics will include year-end tasks and deadlines, dealing with open purchase orders, using order searches to help with fiscal year-end tasks, assigning substitute approvers and Contracts+ update. There will be time for questions at the end of the forum. Registration is encouraged on the Learning and Development Portal, and more information can be found on the 49er Mart message board.

  • Student entrepreneurs make an impressive impact at 21st annual Charlotte Venture Challenge: The 2022 Charlotte Venture Challenge provided the proverbial cherry on top of a year-long process during which student entrepreneurs honed their business or project ideas, streamlined their plans and perfected their presentations in preparation for pitching their ideas.
