Commencement is a time to recognize the completion of graduates' academic journeys and celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, all while honoring campus traditions. The UNC Charlotte Alumni Association sponsored a series of events Thursday, May 12, to help the Class of 2022 transition from students to alumni.

Meet the graduate: MiKayla Raines
Twenty-three-year-old MiKayla Raines will make history this week as the youngest person ever to earn a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from UNC Charlotte.
Meet the graduate: Kaela Williams
Kaela Williams, from Sanford, North Carolina, is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. An aspiring physician, Williams reflects upon Charlotte’s impact on her life and career aspirations.
Meet the graduate: Priya Patel
Priya Patel grew up in North Carolina’s Lake Norman area. A member of the Class of 2022, she will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the College of Health and Human Services. Meet the graduate: Marice Raynor
Marice Raynor, a native of Kinston, North Carolina, is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Belk College of Business. Raynor’s post-Commencement plans are set, as he will be working with Bank of America as a wholesale credit analyst.
Meet the graduate: Dakota Walker
Dakota Walker grew up in North Carolina’s Kings Mountain area. As a member of the Class of 2022, she will complete a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the Cato College of Education. Starting this fall, she will be teaching in an exceptional children's resource room at Kings Mountain Intermediate School.
