The annual tradition of New Student Convocation returns in person this fall at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 21. All students from the class of 2026 (first-year students) and incoming transfer students are invited.

Patty Cox earns trio of national awards for climate change videos
Patty Cox joined UNC Charlotte as assistant director for Student Niner Media in January, but her efforts before arriving at the University have earned national recognition. Cox, who previously worked for a decade at the Weather Channel, earned awards for three stories she helped produce as editor-in-chief.

- 8/3: UNC Charlotte and boutique jeweler Kendra Scott are partnering for a fundraising event to benefit the Ellis Reed Parlier Scholarship. Scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3, the fundraiser will be at Kendra Scott’s SouthPark location. Shoppers whose in-store purchases total $100 or more will receive a free gift, while supplies last.
