Annual University Convocation kicks off the 2022-23 academic year
A highlight of this year’s University Convocation was the elevation of Charlotte’s high-impact learning experiences. At Wednesday's launch of the 2022-23 academic year — with faculty and staff in attendance in person as well as virtually — Chancellor Sharon L. Gaber applauded campuswide efforts to advance a culture that prioritizes and promotes student success.

- Reminder that several updates to Niner Transit service have been made for the fall. The Niner Transit Gold Route will be temporarily unavailable. Niner Transit Silver and Green Routes will run Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to midnight. The Purple Route will provide service to students living in HRL off-campus expanded housing.
- Reminder: New Student Convocation is Sunday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. Learn more about this signature Charlotte tradition for incoming first-year and transfer students.
- Google is updating its Gmail interface (what you see). These changes will be visible in the browser and mobile devices and the Gmail app - you may see a pop-up message letting you know about the change. This updated interface offers a new, integrated view for Gmail, making it easy to move between applications like Gmail, Chat and Meet. Once rolled to your account, you can change whether you use the New view or the Original view within Gmail on the web: Gear icon > See all settings > General (default tab). If you make a change, be sure to scroll to the bottom and click save changes.

- 8/21: Join us for silent, meditative walks through the Van Landingham Glen. Led by horticulture technician and facilities specialist Jennifer Bueno, these forest strolls will include meditative prompts around the practice of gratitude.
