STATE BUDGET UPDATE

The North Carolina General Assembly has approved the state’s two-year budget. Gov. Roy Cooper has indicated he will allow the budget to become law without his signature. Among the items included is the largest raise for state employees since 2007.

The International Festival is happening this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This free-admission festival is centered around booths arranged in colorful marketplace style representing the cultures of over 35 nations. Travel around the world in one day by learning archery, trying new foods and experiencing performances from a variety of individuals and groups. Join the fun as a spectator, or immerse yourself into new cultures through the day’s events.

Niner Nation Week: Homecoming 2023 is right around the corner! Show your UNC Charlotte pride during a week of activities on campus and throughout the Charlotte region, culminating in the Homecoming Game against Navy on October 14 at Jerry Richardson Stadium.

FACULTY and stafF fall Need-to-KNOWS

  • Faculty and staff are invited to sign up for an upcoming Breakfast with the Chancellor session.
  • The Student Health Center is offering flu and COVID vaccines for students, faculty and staff.
  • The Novant Health Breast Center mobile unit will be on campus Thursday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center North Lot.
  • Open Enrollment for the 2024 plan year will be held from Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, through Friday, Oct. 27, 2023. To help you prepare, the Benefits Office has created a hub of information on the Human Resources website that highlights important information for open enrollment.

  • Stay healthy this fall! The Student Health offers flu and COVID vaccines for students, faculty and staff. Plus, take advantage of CIC Connections to improve your well-being and learn about resources that can help you thrive.
  • The Haunted Union is an annual celebration of Halloween on campus. On the last Thursday of October, the entire building is taken over for a haunted house, costume contest, spooky-themed crafts, tarot card readers and more!
  • Fall break is Oct. 23-24. Enjoy the time off!
