Meet a Niner

Samara Gibson is pursuing a master’s degree in public health with a concentration on physical activity and nutrition. As a graduate assistant for the Jamil Niner Student Pantry, she has found a meaningful way to contribute to the well-being of her fellow students. Join Gibson in supporting the pantry as part of the University’s #GivingTuesday initiative.

• Volunteers are needed for Fall Commencement to assist guests and graduates Friday, Dec. 15, and Saturday, Dec. 16. Register to volunteer!
• The Division of Research will conduct essential server maintenance Thursday, Nov. 30, from 8 a.m. to noon. During this period, Niner Research will be temporarily unavailable.
• Today is the last day to apply for the Center of Teaching and Learning’s faculty fellow position supporting generative AI. Apply by 11:59 p.m.!
• Attend Mental Health First Aid training, a national program that teaches skills around how to respond to someone struggling with distress or suicide ideation. Register now for in-person faculty/staff training Friday, Dec. 15.
• OASES celebrates nontraditional student success.
• The Graduate School will offer mentor training based on the program developed by the Center for the Improvement of the Mentored Experience in Research from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26.
