  • UNC Charlotte has again earned a spot among the top 10 best providers of online bachelor’s degrees in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Online Bachelor’s Degrees rankings.
  • Do you and your spouse or partner both work on campus?  Did you meet at Charlotte? We want to hear your story.
  • Reminder to staff: Sign up by Friday, Feb. 9, to enter the 49er Gold Rush Bake-Off, sponsored by Staff Council. The event will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, in the University Cone Center, Lucas Room.\
  • Learn to support student study skills with ChatGPT by attending the “Getting Started with ChatGTP” workshop at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13.
  • Juan E. Gilbert, professor and chair of the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Department at the University of Florida, will present "Computing for Social Good: Changing the World with Innovations in Technology" from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, in the Popp Martin Student Union, Room 340. The event also will be livestreamed. Register here. 
  • TEDxUNCCharlotte is coming to Cone University Center, McKnight Hall, from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 17. General admission seats are free, and VIP tickets for guaranteed front row seating, a T-shirt, pen and idea book can be purchased for $25.
  • Applications are open for 2024-25 Inclusive Excellence Grants. The submission deadline is Wednesday, March 13.
     

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Share what you love most about your Charlotte experience! Did you meet your best friend here? Do you have a favorite professor or class? Do you love supporting 49ers sports teams? Do you have a job on campus you love? We want to hear your story.
  • The Graduate School and the Graduate Admissions Office in the Reese Building, fifth floor, is temporarily closed to allow contractors to complete necessary work. Operations will continue remotely until the units can reopen their doors.
  • The Marian Beane Crossing Borders Writing Competition encourages student reflection on the value of international living experiences. Submissions are open through Monday, March 18, with monetary awards for winners.
