49er Card
Your 49er account can be used for on-campus transactions in more than 100 locations, including vending and copying machines and mail services, parking services and other campus facilities. In addition, you can deposit money onto the card’s Optional Dining Account and use this tax-free account for all your dining needs in more than 10 locations.

Benefits
As state workers, UNC Charlotte employees have a number of benefits, depending upon position classification and the number of hours worked per week. The Benefits Office in the Department of Human Resources provides information about eligibility for various benefits, including vacation, sick leave, health plans, flexible spending accounts and more.

Campus Safety and Security
The University’s Campus Safety and Security Committee develops and implements a comprehensive plan to assure the physical safety and security of the main campus of UNC Charlotte. Via the Web, the committee has compiled safety and security resources for students, faculty/staff, parents and visitors.

Chancellor’s Outbox
A source of information about the chancellor and major communication pieces (newsletters, addresses, editorials) that inform the campus and community on a number of topics.

Dining Services

Employment Opportunities
The University offers a variety of employment opportunities for faculty, professional staff, and temporary positions (both non-student and student). All position types (excluding student vacancies) require completion of an electronic staff application or faculty/staff profile through UNC Charlotte’s online application system.

Faculty Governance
Participation in faculty governance serves both faculty and the University by ensuring that more perspectives are brought to bear on matters affecting the institution’s continued success. Service through faculty governance results in academic leadership and engagement on policy-making committees as well as promotes dialogue with administration.

ITS Help Center for Faculty and Staff
Provides technology assistance to employees. The center can be reached at ext. 7-3100 or via email at help@uncc.edu. You can also login to the HelpDesk Online and submit and track your technical problem.

Materials Management
Procures goods and services for faculty and staff in compliance with University policies and procedures and state guidelines.

N.C. Office of State Personnel
The OSP Website contains links to the benefits, policies, regulations and procedures that apply to employees of state agencies, universities, boards and commissions as covered by the provisions of the State Personnel Act.

Parking and Transportation Services
A one-stop site for information about parking permits, parking maps, SafeRide and other transportation options.

Public Relations
The Office of Public Relations in the Division for University Relations and Community Affairs focuses on three primary areas: media relations, internal communications and counsel related to public relations and marketing. This work includes frequent collaboration with colleagues throughout the University, especially in supporting special events or activities of the Chancellor’s Office and the University Relations and Community Affairs Division. PR services are available to all colleges, departments, offices; however, the office’s priority is representing the University and helping advance its strategic goals. Staff Council
Established to create and provide a more harmonious working environment for the staff of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, the council, operating under the authority of the chancellor, is responsible for bringing to the attention of the administration matters of general staff concern; and to take such actions as are necessary to enable it to meet those responsibilities.

UNC Charlotte Magazine
UNC Charlotte magazine is published four times a year and includes articles and items of interest to alumni, staff and friends of the university. A special feature is the Alumni Notes section that allows classmates to keep in touch.
