- Lawrence "Larry" Kelley has been appointed interim vice chancellor for Business Affairs.
- The ROTC recruitment event planned for Monday, which included landing Apache helicopters on campus, has been postponed because of unforeseen circumstances related to maintenance issues. A new date will be shared with campus when it is finalized.

- The deadline for nominations for the 2021 Employee of the Year awards has been extended to March 19.
- Funding for developing a learning improvement plan for the 2021-22 academic year is available through Scholarship of Assessment Faculty Learning Community grants. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on April 2.
- NCFlex recently announced changes to its Flexible Spending Accounts and held a webinar to help educate members on these changes. Watch a recording of the webinar and review the Q+A for more information.
- The University Key Audit deadline has been extended to March 18.

Film score by dance department music director wins prize: A film score by Shamou, the music director for the department of dance, was named "Best Original Score in a Feature Film " at the 39th South Film and Arts Academy Festival.
MEDIA HIGHLIGHTS
Gene McLaurin '78, former N.C. state senator and mayor of Rockingham, was appointed to chair the governing board of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.
Sociology professor Jill Yavorsky commented on the importance of elevating women’s voices as experts.
Philosophy professor Lisa Rasmussen discussed differences in research ethics throughout Europe.
EVENTS
3/17: Students, alumni and the community are invited to attend the Entrepreneurial Decisions Public Speaker Series: Arts & Design in the Marketplace. The Belk College of Business and the College of Arts + Architecture partner for this conversation to be led by CoA+A alumna Karin Liljegren ‘90, founder and principal of Omgivning.
3/18: The Office of International Programs invites the campus community to hear former U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Robert Pearson present "A Democracy for the American People" as part of the World Affairs Council of Charlotte Distinguished Speaker Series.
3/25: "Capital and Precarity, Temporality and Race: On Mohsin Hamid’s Exit West" explores the relations among post-Fordist capital, the experience of time, and the global-racial distribution of precarity.
