‘Tactical Urbanism' project transforms Alexander Street Park
A group of urban design and architecture students have transformed the basketball courts at Alexander Street Park into vibrant street murals in a partnership with the Charlotte Urban Design Center, an office in the city of Charlotte’s Planning, Design and Development Department. The group, representing Master of Urban Design students and students in the UNC Charlotte chapter of Freedom By Design, were led by Professor Deb Ryan.

- December graduates: The UNC Charlotte Alumni Association invites you to participate in several commencement activities, including Senior Send Off, Donning of the Kente, the Legacy Draping Ceremony and the 49er Ring Ceremony. Commencement is a great time to honor campus traditions and embrace new experiences. Register for these events now.
- Learn to prevent violence at Charlotte by attending a Green Dot Student Training session. Students who attend will learn to become active bystanders and establish intolerance of violence as a campus norm.

Mayor appoints professor to neighborhood equity and stabilization commission: Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles has appointed Associate Professor of Architecture and Urban Design Nadia Anderson to the newly formed Charlotte Neighborhood Equity and Stabilization Commission to address the displacement caused by gentrification.

- 12/3: “How to prepare content for people who are blind” is the fifth session of the Universal Design Fast Facts Series presented by the Office of Disability Services. This session defines blindness, explains how people who are low vision perceive information using assistive technology and explores how screen-readers work.
