Construction projects can affect the campus by changing pedestrian, bike and vehicle routes and creating additional activity at or around the University. Members of the campus community should exercise caution when approaching construction areas.
Construction to close sidewalks near Cameron Hall
The sidewalks will be closed between Cameron Hall and the Auxiliary Services Building (ASB), on the north side of Craver Road at Lot 16 and behind Cameron Hall through Sunday, June 10, for construction related to the new science building.
Detours will be behind ASB to Lot 16. The east door of Cameron Hall (second floor) will be unavailable to enter or exit. There will be no passage between ASB and Cameron Hall, and passage from ASB/McMillan/Lot 16A to Lot 16 will be along the east side of the construction area.
Cone Visitor Deck repairs scheduled
The ramp to the visitors section of Cone Deck will be closed for repairs from 6 a.m., Thursday, May 17, through 9 p.m., Sunday, May 20.
Heavy equipment and construction personnel will be in this area; barricades, cones and tape will be erected. Signage will redirect traffic.
Exercise caution when approaching construction zones.
Temporary closure of sidewalk near Cato Hall
The East Deck crosswalk will be closed temporarily through June 22 to improve disability access between the deck and Cato Hall.
Pedestrian traffic will be diverted away from the work area. Expect barricades and construction workers and equipment.
In addition, a temporary lane closure will redirect traffic along Mary Alexander Road; signage will be posted.
Remember to exercise caution when approaching construction zones.

Speed table installation continues
On Friday, April 13, work continues on installation of speed tables on Cameron Boulevard, starting at 7 a.m. Expect traffic delays and lane closures near Wallis Hall and the UNC Charlotte Main Station.
Exercise caution when approaching construction zones, and watch for flaggers to assist with traffic flow.
FM’s Phil Jones receives Frank Turner Award
Phil Jones, associate vice chancellor for the Facilities Management Department, recently received the prestigious Frank B. Turner Award at the 37th annual State Construction Conference.
Speed table installation scheduled
On Friday, April 6, work to install speed tables on Cameron Boulevard will begin at 7 a.m. Expect traffic delays and lane closures near Wallis Hall and the UNC Charlotte Main Station.

Snyder Road closure scheduled
Robert D. Snyder Road will be closed at J.W. Clay Boulevard between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Saturday, March 10, for paving of ADA-accessible crosswalks. The Niner Transit Silver Line bus stop at CRI Deck 1 also will be closed for this work.
Traffic entering campus from North Tryon Street should use Institute Circle. Expect flaggers and construction equipment and personnel in the area. Remember to exercise caution when approaching construction zones.
